About Dacia Fusaro, LCSW
Hi, I’m Dacia. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the states of Oregon and California. It takes courage and strength to reach out for help. You are not alone.
I have been working with individuals since 2014. I started my career in New York City as a teacher, working in the field of education for 8 years, before pursuing my dream of becoming a therapist. I received my Masters in Social Services from Fordham University, a Master of Science in Education from Pace University and my Bachelors in Psychology from Hunter College.
I have always been drawn to psychotherapy. I’ve long been inspired by the stories of transformation and growth we’re capable of when we learn how to step outside destructive patterns and limiting beliefs and take control of our narrative. Adversity is not destiny.
No one escapes pain in their lifetimes but it’s how we learn to navigate those inevitable struggles and losses that define us. When we learn how to approach our healing with love and curiosity, change is possible.
My approach is collaborative, curious and warm. I believe humor can be a huge part of the healing process. Therapy works best when a sense of safety and trust are established, and where you can feel free to be yourself, without fear of judgement. I will get to know you within the context of your life and together we will determine the pace and structure of our work. You may want a safe place to process thoughts and feelings, you might be looking for more direction and insight, you might want to focus on concrete skills building.
In our work together, we will honor your unique circumstances and life story and together develop more adaptive, sustainable and fulfilling ways of moving through the world and addressing life challenges.
I am an eclectic therapist, meaning I draw on multiple theoretical frameworks in my work with clients, allowing me to tailor therapy in ways that will be the most beneficial for you. I work from a psychodynamic perspective, meaning I believe our past experiences shape our beliefs and expectations about the world around us and how we carry ourselves relationally. My work is informed by depth psychology, CBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed somatic work.
Please reach out if you would like to learn more about my style and if working together would be a good fit.
